We really did not(do not)have royalty, so she wasn't a princess. But she may have been from one of the families of responsibility. Have you had a chance to go to Salamanca? You could go into the Court House over in Little Valley and check the records there or maybe she lived in one of the smaller towns nearby. Try the Catholic church in Limestone for their records. A really good place would be to contact the Quaker National headquarters as they kept good records of their students (both by English names and their own names). We tend to be a little leery of all the requests for information now that it's ok to be indian but we also tend to forget that sometimes the request is a real one from someone who just wants to know who that woman was in the family pictures or if the family stories are actually true. For those of us who grew up in the times when lots of Salamanca stores didn't want us inside or when you couldn't get a library card, it is hard to overcome a natural anger at all the attention now. If you can understand that, then maybe you can find some folks who would be willing to help you out. Good luck.
