The Seneca are part of the Iroquois (Haudenosaunee)
League of 6 Nations. They were one of the five original
tribes. The League of 5 Nations became the League of 6
Nations when the Tuscarora later joined them. All other
tribes to join were only granted partial membership, having
been conquered by the Iroquois.
