  • Is it true that the Iroquois Indians were a warrior race?

Yes, not only were they highly skilled in warfare, but the Iroquois were also great conquerors, having dominated the North-Eastern part of North-America for years.  Iroquois warriors were feared by all, with rumors of ritual cannibalism and torture running rampant.  Perhaps this fear propaganda made their enemies weaker, softening them up for conquest.  The Iroquois were also skilled at psychological warfare, keeping the morale of their conquered adopted tribe members low by making them second class citizens.
