  • What is the most dramatic event to have happened in Seneca history?

Being conquerors, the Seneca were rarely subdued by their adversaries, but it is perhaps with them as it has been with so many other tribes in the First Nations; their contact with the European colonists having changed their lives forever, and in some instances brought famine and disease.  It was the Dutch who gave the Seneca weapons which they used against their enemies, and the Jesuits who brought with them Christianity.  The Seneca were also quite involved in the American Revolutionary war, and the birth of American politics.
